I hope everyone has been to Umi sake house at least once in their life! They have my most favorite roll here!!! I get super excited when I see this roll, it’s the Tropical Paradise roll. Totally different from anything else I’ve tried. This is because it has tuna, mango, strawberries, cucumber, and is covered in this yummy blueberry sauce. My cousin recommended this to me a long time ago and I was skeptical at first but ever since I tried it for the first time, I’ve gotten it ever since. I don’t care that it’s not on the happy hour menu. I think it’s worth the price tag. I also like their agedashi tofu here, but wish it was on the happy hour menu. The calamari is good because it has this chili sauce on it, on a bed of greens. I tried the chicken and spareribs (not my faves), I didn’t like the bones in the chicken and the taste of the spareribs. The two good rolls on the menu are the Bad Boy roll (even tho i dont like eel, u cant really taste it) and the Seattle tempura. I like these deep fried rolls for some reason.. My friend got the Udon but forgot to ask how that tasted, tho it was HUGE. Another friend got the california kristy and that’s her favorite, so it must be good =] Def. one of my favorite sushi places in Seattle!
Hmm ok, seriously, everytime I go out with Lisa I always end up eating the food before I remember to take pics.. wth.. Must be so excited to eat! haha Anyways, this is from Parlor a week ago. They have happy hour everyday, I think Sun and Mon are all day, every other day is at night til midnight. I like their happy hour, but I always forget about going here because I think of it more as a lounge. They have 1.95, 2.95 3.95 and 4.95 menus. There’s barbecue pizza, we got the hawaiian one (it was kinda salty tho) Caesar salad is good too, you can add chicken. We also got the spinach artichoke dip but uhm, as you can see, we killed it before I remembered to take a pic. There’s fries, and a lot of other things on the menu, it’s actually pretty good in variety! Then we played pool. Oh and the drink specials, I got the Parlor punch, tasted like juice..probably cuz there was lil alcohol, and Lisa got the Mangokaze… it was ok, more alcoholic in taste.
So Emily came across Sweet Iron Waffles online and sent me the link, and we decided to give it a go on Thurs morning.. its located on 1st ave, between Spring and University… we walked in, and its pretty small, I think a lotta ppl just take it to go.. or eat it quickly before work. I got the basil, brie and added bacon, it was about 6 bucks. Emily got the turkey and cheese waffle… yummy. I liked mine a lot, the waffle itself is sweet, i think they put a sugar coat on it..You don’t need syrup tho cuz its already sweet .The only thing is that they’re so small!! NOOO.. I wish they were BIGGER!! esp for the price…
Time for more updates! =]
Ruth Chris Steakhouse. one of my favorite happy hours because their Ahi Tuna is one of the best I’ve had ANYWHERE (Pearl is pretty good too) I got a glass of bubbly champagne, it was very sweet ! ^_^ and then the Caesar salad which is really good too. The ahi tuna comes with a mustard sauce that is like wasabi sort of… and a cool lemon in a lil wrap for you to squeeze without the seeds falling out. The cheeseburger is a popular choice, I saw a lot of people order it… I used to get the sliders and tenderloin kebabs. The meat is very good! The only thing I don’t like is the wait… if you get here an hour into happy hour and you have more than 2 people, it takes a while to find seating.. LAME…
Chandler’s Crabhouse! One of my fave meals yet! =]
So this is located on South Lake Union by Joeys… super nice! The view is very nice and the sun came out just in time for lunch. There’s all these yachts outside and the service is excellent. They are really nice and knowledgeable.
There’s a fresh catch sheet along with their regular menu which I think, like McCormick, is printed everyday. We picked off the fresh sheet, and both got Salmon. I had mushrooms added to mine cuz I love mushrooms. There was saffron couscous and it was yellow and reminded me of tapioca balls and was yummy!! I’m gonna go buy some now to make at home. The sauce was good as well. We also ordered an appetizer of clams and mussels in a cajun sauce. Deeelicious ^_^ Been craving clams for awhile. Then for dessert, we had creme brulee, and it was HUGE… I didn’t finish… I will def come here again… ^_^
Thanks Darwin!!!
Me and Lisa started eating our food before I could take any decent pix! OOPS… this is from the Slip on the Kirkland waterfront. I love this place cuz its outdoors and the food is good. And u can walk along the waterfront after. Been here a bunch, I always get the Pear Gorgonzola salad but this time I got a gorgonzola burger. yum, lisa got some neno chicken burger… it was good too! The salmon cajun burger is also. Definitely worth the drive
Did I mention the cars you see here are really nice =]
So the past weekend where it was decent and sunny, a bunch of us went to Cactus on Alki because we had heard so many good things about it. Me and Em ordered the coconut mojito…this one was different from the others we’ve had. Much more sweet, sour, and maybe strong… it gave me and em a headache immediately and mine last allll day!! LAME… FAIL.
The food was alright as well, I liked the jalapenos in the calamari, but the salad was ok, and the nachos were ok too, not as good as the Matador! YUM. The quesadillas were good but too small.. need bigger portion like stanfords! OR applebees!
Oh yah and Emily didnt realize the salt was for margaritas and thought it was a zen garden so she made a smiley face wit her finger… haha fail
hmmm prob wont come back lol… eh
Happy birthday to our Joycie bear!
For her surprise birthday dinner we went to Shilla! In downtown Seattle on Denny way. This is a Korean bbq place but they also have japanese dishes. We ordered two orders of the bulgogi because we wanted to grill it ourselves, and if you order one, they make it for u. Me and Lisa also got the age(fried) tofu…good, but I wish there was more! Jess got some cold noodle dish. The price was pretty expensive and there wasn’t too much beef. =( saddd, not enough to feed us!
Again, happy birthday Joyce =]
Yay for Seattle sun!
Me and Lisa went to Alki on Friday to enjoy the weather and eat outside. We decided to go to Duke’s since we wanted seafood.
We got a spinach salad (full size) and they split it for us! And coconut prawns! Yum! Things are pricey here, we paid about 25 ish total. I think.. can’t remember! TOO MANY FOOD PLACES..
The view was nice though, but the service was HELLA slow.. it took us about 15 min to get our checks after they took our plates and another 5-10 to pay… super slow….
So next stop was Cheesecake Factory for dessert… the lemoncello torte is super good! YUM! It was perfect! I loveeed it. The oreo cheesecake was good too, but not as good as my lemon torte!
After dessert, we had happy hour (cuz we like to eat dessert before dinner). We went to John Howie Steak at the Bravern in Bellevue. It’s actually pretty small here… not much room for a big group…so since we had six people we had to sit on the piano! The glass piano that some dude plays music while you eat. We ordered the calamari with artichoke (my fave was the artichoke), the prime tenderloin bites (it was pricey! 9 bucks, but tasted tender, however it was teriyaki flavored) And some gnocchi dish … weird. And some sliders, that I didn’t get to try. The white sangria is their may special and taste pretty good, like juice. Other than that the place was pretty pricy for the amount of food. So..maybe I shall hit this place up later when I’m BALLIN’!
